Russell Kwiatkowski, MBA Director Russell has been an avid and successful gold prospector and mineral exploration property optionor in Thunder Bay, Ontario during the past 45 years. Starting as an assistant geophysicist at Coldstream Mine (100 km west of Thunder Bay, Ontario), Russell then spent time with the Ontario Department of Mines and Northern Affairs’ field work teams. |
Early in his career, Russell benefited from the mentorship of such renowned geologists as Fred R. Harris, Frederick B. Johnson, and Dr. E. G. Pye. In addition, his knowledge of geology was augmented by attending graduate level courses offered by Dr. Trevor Page and Dr. Edward Mercy (Professor Emeritus) at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay where he received a B.Sc(1969), a B.Ed(1970), an HBA (1976), including an M.Edin Business Administration (1982). Along with his son Derrick, Russell received the prestigious 2004 Discovery of the Year Award from the Northwestern Ontario Prospectors Association for the Larose Project located 100 km west of the city of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. Russell has recently been working closely with the First Nations, Lac des Mille Lacs Band and the Ontario Ministry of Northern Development to develop a template prospectors’ Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to facilitate relationships between First Nations and mining companies. In 2015, Russell was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding work and continuous dedication to prospecting in Northwestern Ontario. |
